Pan Tadeusz - White Images
There is a lot of talk every day about what the healthy do for the disabled. This time the opposite situation is taking place: the disabled have created a work for the non-disabled. This is the genesis of the exhibition of white illustrations to Pan Tadeusz.
The project was born in Laski. The wards of the famous institution for the blind there use Braille writing on a daily basis. But convex dots can be used not only for writing, also for – drawing, although this is incomparably more difficult for a blind person.
And yet, it worked. Lines composed of convex dots surprisingly accurately and dynamically, yet very briefly, reproduce the most important events of the national epic.
Looking at these works, we not only compare them with the memorized plot, but we enter the vestibule of another world – a world where there is no light, no colors, no perspective – but there is imagination, invention, perseverance and optimism – despite everything.
Such an exhibition is not to be missed.
