The world of senses – a new interactive exhibition
From August 24 in the Stalowa Wola Museum an interactive exhibition will be available, dedicated to the functioning of the human senses.
The exhibition brings closer the fascinating and mysterious world of human senses, reveals the structure and secrets of the “operation” of our eyes, ears, nose….
The presented models will enable viewers to carry out simple experiments on their own and learn the secrets of the functioning of the organs of hearing, sight, smell and touch.
The exhibition consists of three thematic spaces. The first, called “Receptors,” allows visitors to learn about the structure of the various organs responsible for receiving stimuli. By performing simple experiments, anyone can test the functioning of their own senses, such as peripheral vision, afterimage and the limits of hearing. Space two – “Mono or Stereo” – contains models showing how stimuli flowing to the brain from two sources, i.e. two eyes or two ears, enhance its perceptual capabilities. In the third space, titled “Illusions” – in addition to the popular optical illusions, it will be possible to undergo auditory illusions, make sure our sense of touch isn’t confusing us, test our reflexes and sense of balance.
A total of dozens of experimental stations will be available to visitors.
The exhibition, prepared by the Jagiellonian University Museum, will be presented in Stalowa Wola until October 29 this year.
Curator of the exhibition: Dr. Maciej Kluza, Jagiellonian University
