World of butterflies
8.03-7.05.2017, World of Butterflies exhibition, from the collection of the Natural History Museum of the ISEZ of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow.
The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola will again host a beautiful natural history exhibition. This time the colorful and mysterious world of butterflies from all corners of the earth will be opened to visitors. In addition to these unusual insects, the exhibition will also bring closer the richness of the accompanying fauna, all the more interesting because these are usually endemic animals, characteristic of the selected area.
Although the exhibition will focus on animals from specific climate zones, the main attention will be focused on Australia and New Guinea, places known for their unique wildlife and species found nowhere else.
The exhibition will feature an impressive collection of butterflies, which belongs to the collection of the Natural History Museum of ISEZ PAN in Cracow. The specimens come from practically all regions of the world where these animals occur, including Africa, South America, Asia and Oceania. It will be possible to see the record holder among butterflies characterized by the largest wing area, as well as the smallest butterfly of microscopic size measuring a few millimeters. In addition, it will be possible to admire a collection of nocturnal butterflies from the family of Peacocks (Saturniidae), which impress with their size. Complementing the exhibition is a representation of associated fauna from the Australian region (including colorful birds and primroses).
