Unpolished exhibition in Bucharest
On 28 September 2012, UNPOLISHED – YOUNG DESIGN FROM POLAND, an exhibition of young Polish design, will open at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest.
The exhibition will be on display for six weeks, until 11 November. This is another iteration of the exhibition, which is very popular in Europe and around the world.
The Bucharest edition of the exhibition is more extensive than previous ones, featuring 24 of the most interesting works by 17 designers and design groups, as well as 8 projects by young architects. The Romanian audience will thus have the opportunity to see not only the original and surprising projects of Polish designers, including the well-known and multiple award-winning works of Oskar Zięta, Aze design, Beton, glass and porcelain objects by Magdalena Trzcionka, Bogdan Kosak, Monika Patuszyńska, the “inflatable” sofas by Malafor, and the unique carpets by the duo Czop/Rusin, but also distinctive architectural objects designed by young Poles. The exhibition will be accompanied by lectures on contemporary Polish design and film screenings.
The exhibition has been presented at many prestigious design festivals and museums of applied arts, including Salone del Mobile in Milan, Designer’s Days and Design Week in Paris, Inno Design Tech Expo in Hong Kong, as well as the Museum of Applied Arts in Cologne and the Design Museum in Helsinki. Its previous editions have received positive feedback from specialists and attracted public interest.
