Stefan Norblin w Indiach
grudzień 2014-maj 2015
A new exhibition “Stefan Norblin in India” is on display in the Stefan Norblin Room at the Hutnik Guest House. On several large-format boards you will find descriptions of the artist’s activities in this exotic country, reproductions of his works and previously unshown archival photos documenting his work in Indian palaces.
This is another installment of the artist’s activities in the hall named after him. Stefan Norblin (1892-1952), a versatile artist of the 1st half of the 20th century and an outstanding portraitist, was above all an artist in the then fashionable art déco style. His war-enforced stay in India from 1941 to 1946, resulted in magnificent works that became the largest polonikum in Asia. The great paintings, especially in the Umaid Bhawan palace in Jodhpur, are still a tourist attraction today.
The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, which in 2011 reminded Poland and the world of this versatile artist, continues to study his life and work. Exhibitions in the Hutnik Guest House successively remind the individual stages of Stefan Norblin’s work.
