Jubilee exhibition of works by Stanislaw Swieca

The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola will showcase an exhibition of graphics and drawings by one of the most acclaimed graphic artists from the Podkarpacie region. The exhibition will feature dozens of works created over forty years of the artist’s active career. Included in the display will be special pieces that have received awards and distinctions in Poland and abroad. His drawings and graphics have long been met with significant interest and appreciation from viewers and art connoisseurs, resulting in over twenty awards, including multiple first-place wins in competitions.

Stanisław Świeca was born in 1948 in Zarzecze near Nisko. He currently resides and works in Stalowa Wola. He is a graduate of the Stanisław Wyspiański State High School of Fine Arts in Jarosław. He completed his studies in 1973 at the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, graduating from the studio of Professor Zbigniew Chudzikiewicz.

From 1973 to 1980, he worked at the Stalowa Wola Steelworks as a design specialist in industrial design. He has been a member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists since 1973.

He has exhibited his graphics and drawings in nearly twenty solo exhibitions in Poland. He has participated in art retreats, charity auctions, and over a hundred group exhibitions both domestically and internationally. He is the recipient of the award at the 21 Mini Print Internacional de Cadaques exhibition in Spain.

Since 1975, he has actively participated in regional exhibitions in Rzeszów, Kielce, and Sandomierz. He was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art and the Governor of Tarnobrzeg. He collaborated with the Rzecz Piękna foundation of the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts.

His graphics and drawings are part of the collections of the District Museum in Rzeszów, the District Museum in Radom, the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, as well as numerous galleries, including BWA in Rzeszów, BWA in Sandomierz, the Gallery of Bank Zachodni PBK in Kielce, Taller Galeria Fort in Spain, McCormack Gallery in the USA, and Metské Kultúrne Stredisko in Gelnica, Slovakia.

The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual album titled *Stanisław Świeca. Drawing and Graphics*, dedicated to the artist and illustrating his substantial body of work spanning over 40 years.

On August 30, 2015, as the exhibition concludes, the museum has organized a graphics workshop for children and youth, conducted by the artist himself. These educational sessions will offer not only a chance to meet the renowned graphic artist but also an opportunity to experience his creative process.
