SANSARA Nepal

SANSARA Nepal

11.07-15.08.2021 SANSARA Nepal; Photographer: Wojtek Moskwa
Alphonse Karpinski Painting Gallery Stalowa Wola, 12 Rozwadowska St.

At the temporary exhibition “SANSARA Nepal” at the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, viewers will take a virtual journey to distant Nepal, where they will be able to look at its inhabitants and unusual landscapes. Black and white photographs are accompanied by personal texts of the author – Wojtek Moskwa – which are a kind of supplement to the images captured by the camera.

Sansara in Hindu and Buddhist religion is nothing but reincarnation, the wandering of the soul, caused by karma. Liberation from sansara can only be achieved by freeing the soul from matter, and the culmination of this wandering is the attainment of nirvana.

The exhibition “SANSARA Nepal” is nothing less than this very wandering.

Author: Wojtek Moskwa

Coordination of the exhibition: Katarzyna Samotyj

Wojtek Moskwa was born in 1976 in Elk. He is an artist photographer living in Warsaw. Photography has accompanied him since he was fifteen years old. In 2012 he took a several-week trip to Nepal, where he became interested in the subject of cremation and encountered the concept of sansara. The leitmotif of his work is the perpetual cycle of birth and death, a kind of wandering of souls.
