We invite young and old to a cheerful temporary exhibition entitled. “Reksio – a friend with a medal” organized on the occasion of the 55th birthday of the hero of the evening cartoon. The exhibition will present exhibits from the collection of the Museum of Bedtime Cartoons from the collection of Wojciech Jama in Rzeszow. A visit to the exhibition will certainly be an opportunity to go on a sentimental journey to the years of childhood. Many will have a tear in their eye at the memory of carefree evenings with their favorite cartoons.
The series “Reksio” was created in 1967-1988 at the Drawing Film Studio in Bielsko-Biała. 65 episodes were produced, recounting the adventures of the friendly little spotted dog and his friends from the village yard – chickens, cats, dogs and other animals. In each episode Reksio goes through interesting adventures, playing various roles, such as: rescuer, teacher, nurse, singer, actor, painter or magician. The friendly dog was also a detective, peacemaker, firefighter, sportsman, cosmonaut, even had a funny adventure with a UFO. Realized with humor adventures of Reksio not only entertain, but also teach small viewers the principles of conduct and the value of friendship. At the exhibition we will see original sketches, character designs, animation films, learn about the silhouette of the animation creator and the history of the cartoon itself. It will be complemented by a cinema screening, during which we will relive some of the dog’s merry adventures.
The year 2022 is full of anniversaries: Rumcajs and Teddy Colargol are turning 55, and the heroes of the first Polish bedtime story “Jacek and Agatka” will celebrate their 60th birthdays in October. The most famous of the fairy tale doggies was invented by prominent director and screenwriter Lechoslaw Marszalek, whose 100th birthday falls this year.
The exhibition is accompanied by an educational program dedicated to all age groups.
