Regional Nativity Scenes

December 1, 1999 – January 15, 2000

The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola decided to honor the memory of local heroes, fighting and dying for the Fatherland, by organizing an open-air exhibition in the Rozwadowski Market Square, telling the story of years ago. The exhibition is, in a sense, unprecedented. In order to create an interesting narrative capable of capturing the interest of different audiences, the museum reached for the first time for the latest in artificial intelligence (AI). The 19 boards present generated unique images that make the grim times of World War II more appealing to the viewer’s imagination.

Each scene presented is accompanied by an excerpt of text from the account of a participant in these events – Home Army soldier Czeslaw Kaminski “Glaz”, the main tenant of “Górka”. Such a combination, although associated with comic book history, maintains a tone appropriate to the presented subject matter and makes it easier to understand and remember the incidents of 80 years ago. This is because the characters “come to life” and the audience runs after them up the stairs, hearing whispers, screams, gunshots. Thanks to this solution, they become, as it were, participants in the depicted events.

The images for the exhibition were created using WOMBO DREAM. Due to the use of artificial intelligence, the generated images are not free of imperfections and do not reflect the real details of characters and places, being only illustrations of historical events.
