The posters in the collection of the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola comprise more than a hundred designs, dating from the communist era and the early 1990s. They were all donated to the Museum by Father Wilhelm Gaj-Piotrowski, a recognised regionalist and researcher into the history of Rozwadów and the surrounding area.

Posters can be divided into several thematic groups; cultural ones, e.g. announcing exhibitions in museums, or jubilee ones – reminding us of important anniversaries. There is also no shortage of political propaganda posters. Most of these designs date from the 1960s, but there are also a few from the second half of the 1940s, calling for the reconstruction of the country after the Second World War.

The collection includes works by outstanding graphic artists belonging to the Polish poster school, such as Tadeusz Trepkowski, Eryk Lipiński, Maciej Urbaniec or one of the most recognisable graphic artists in Poland and the world, Waldemar Świerzy.

The collection also includes Włodzimierz Zakrzewski’s famous propaganda poster ‘Party’, depicting a young man holding a rudder in his hands.

In addition, we can boast of designs by such poster artists as Tadeusz Piskorski, Wojciech Zamecznik, Tomasz Rumiński (creator of the cult Polish Airlines LOT advertising poster) or Karol Śliwka (creator of the well-known PKO BP Bank logo, among others). Most of the works were created using lithographic techniques and offset printing.
