The aim of the ‘Man – Transformations of Form’ exhibition is to show the stylistic and formal transformations taking place in Polish sculpture, the subject of which is the portrait and the human figure. The exhibition presents works ranging from classical representations by Alfons Karny and Franciszek Strynkiewicz, which are an attempt at a psychological characterisation of the model, to
neo-expressionist works by Wiktor Gajda, to the abstract forms of Krystyna Jarnuszkiewicz. This is just a selection from the multitude of representations. – writes J. Pajek, the exhibition curator, in the catalogue.
