The English boast not only Big Ben, but also distinctive red telephone booths, France is associated with the Eiffel Tower, but also the Chanel n°5 bottle, Italy is not only Rome, but also the Fiat brand, the Czechs are famous for the Charles Bridge, but also Pilsner beer and Bata shoes.Poland also has a repertoire of similar products, suffice it to mention stoneware from Boleslawiec, porcelain from Ćmielów, glass from Krosno, Polar washing machine, cut-outs from Łowicz, pots from Olkusz or Romet bicycles.
Their overview will be the MADE IN POLAND exhibition, which will present the most recognizable creations and designs from the Polish iconosphere – from iconic brands, through traditional products and popular appliances to distinctive design. However, the MADE IN POLAND exhibition is intended to be a presentation that refers not only to the history of Polish design, visual and material culture, but also to the history of entrepreneurship. All of the brands on display can boast a long-standing tradition, sometimes going back several centuries. By combining two aspects at the exhibition – good design and history – we refer to the heritage of Stalowa Wola, a city established as the most important urban development of the Central Industrial District and strongly associated with the products of Stalowa Wola Steelworks.
Educational workshops offered:
Kindergartens, elementary schools I-III
Museum workshops:
Pretty or useful?
The workshop will be an opportunity to talk about industrial design. What is hidden under this name and what does this field do? We will find the answers at the Made In Poland exhibition.
Children will explore with their senses everyday objects and ponder their aesthetics, functionality and purposefulness. What must a designer pay attention to when creating a new product?
We will analyze several of them in terms of choice of packaging form, fragrance, graphic visualization that is, graphic signs, choice of fonts and color. Finally, we will create mini factories producing decorative paper bags keeping in mind the visual side of our product and, of course, functionality.
Art workshop:
Everyday – Uncommon tableware
The workshop is a proposal for small designers, that is, all those who will want to create an original bowl, cup or plate. We will decorate the created tableware in interesting patterns. We will be inspired by porcelain wares from Ćmielów depicting wreaths of vines, ancient scenes, monuments of Polish architecture.

Advertising
The class will observe the connection between the aesthetic form of the product and marketing. At the workshop, participants will have an exemplary consumer to convince and induce to purchase a product selected from the exhibition. Attempting to create a television or print newspaper advertisement will also provide an opportunity to talk about types of advertising and its mechanisms. Many of them were used as early as the 1920s , as in the case of Przemyslka cologne advertised by famous celebrities such as Jan Kiepura.
Polish Factories in Color!
The factories make beautiful things – ceramics, pots, cutlery and even candy! The history of Polish industry is extremely interesting! During the class we will learn about the more important typically Polish factories and the products that were made in them.
