26.07-30.08.2015 Exhibition dedicated to the work of Kazimierz Kwiatkowski ‘Casimiro’ (1915-1988).

Kazimierz Kwiatkowski, alias ‘Casimiro’, was born on 22.XI.1915 in Poltava, Ukraine, died on 26.XII.1988 in Krynica. He was educated at the State School of Decorative Arts and Painting in Warsaw. In the 1950s he came to Stalowa Wola. He was artistically involved in the development of the town, cooperated with St. Florian’s parish in the field of painting decoration of the church, organised open-air painting workshops and exhibitions. He was actively involved in the management of the Rzeszów district of the Association of Polish Artists. In the mid-1970s he moved to Krynica, where he lived until his death.
His rich oeuvre consists of watercolours, gouaches, tempera paintings, oils and works made in his own technique. He began by creating drawings, realistic watercolours, passed through a period of textural colourism to achieve the effect of concentrating his attention on a synthetic, often symbolic, sublime form in his final twenty years of mature work.
The exhibition will feature dozens of works by the artist representing each stage of his interesting oeuvre. These will be mainly paintings from private collections, but also from the collections of the District Museum in Nowy Sącz and the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola.
