Jaroslaw Kaminski – Giraffes

Jaroslaw Kaminski - Giraffes

May 15 – June 22, 2008

Jaroslaw Kaminski was born in 1974 in Lublin. Since 1994 he has lived in the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Social Welfare Home in Lublin.

In 1994-2003 he was a participant in the Roztocze WTZ in Lublin. Since 2004, he has worked in the art studio of the Mother Teresa of Calcutta DPS in Lublin. He has had more than a dozen individual and as many collective exhibitions, and has participated in many plein-air art events.

The series of cheerful giraffe-pastel paintings presented at the exhibition is a reflection of the artist’s state of mind. The rich colors delight with panache, warmth, luminosity; the seemingly static, vertically placed giraffes give a feeling of dynamism, expression, as if they were enchanted by dancing and singing. Most of the paintings feature a colorful disc resembling the sun, a cheerful witness to the giraffes’ happy life. Dynamic giraffes, intoxicated with their happiness, exude positive energy, as if breaking the gray of this world.

The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog.
