Permanent exhibition of the Regional Museum presents archaeological, historical and ethnographic relics.

24.03.2002 to 4.12.2014

The first permanent exhibition in Stalowa Wola museum presents archaeological, historical and ethnographic relics.

In the archaeological part of the exhibition there are monuments showing the changes that occurred in the life of man living on the lower San and Łeg in successive epochs: the Stone, Bronze and Iron, and bringing us closer to the daily life of prehistoric inhabitants of our region. These are mainly: flint working tools, clay vessels, weapons and metal ornaments. An undoubted attraction of the exhibition is a rich selection of ashtrays and bronze ornaments of the Tarnobrzeg Lusatian culture from cemeteries in Pysznica and Gorzyce.

The ethnographic part of the exhibition depicts the folk culture of the Lasowiak region, with particular emphasis on the Nadsany micro-region. The collected relics, dating from the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, introduce some of the traditional activities of the Lasowiak people, i.e. farming, fishing and old blacksmith crafts. In addition, this part of the exhibition presents the furnishings of the chamber and the chamber in a traditional cottage. Also on display are goods and articles from mixed goods stores. Also noteworthy are unique folk costumes from the Rozwadow area and other parts of the Lasowiak region, as well as musical instruments used by old folk bands.

The historical part of the exhibition includes the history of the Lubomirski family and their foundation – the Rozwadowski monastery, complemented by a collection of sacred art from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The exhibition also includes exhibits depicting the history of the Rozwadowski railroad junction. The section devoted to wars and independence struggles includes militaria from the Swedish Deluge, the National Uprisings and World Wars I and II. The collected Judaica remind us of the Jewish community present in Rozwadów since the founding of the town. Documents and photographs bring closer the educational and cultural activities of the region over the centuries. A special place is occupied by exhibits related to the activities of Rozwadów’s “Sokol”.
