9-10.05. 2017, Center for Local Activity in Pionki, exhibition accompanying the scientific conference “Central Industrial District Yesterday and Today” organized by the Association of CID Cities. 

On dozens of boards was presented an outline of the history of the Central Industrial District, the largest Polish industrial enterprise of the interwar period, which even viewed from today’s perspective arouses admiration. Stalowa Wola is the most appropriate place to recall those times, since the Southern Works, erected in just two years from scratch and the settlement that soon turned into a city, was the most spectacular achievement of the CID. The exhibition features photographic snapshots of the localities where the COP plants were erected, showcasing important events from the time of their construction to the ceremonial inaugurations, as well as the people thanks to whom the ambitious plans were realized.
