FIGURES. Stanisław Dziubak's wicker sculptures

The outdoor exhibition included a dozen wicker sculptures by Stanislaw Dziubak.
25 April – 10 June 2012.
Place: Museum courtyard, 1 Sandomierska St. Free entrance.

The artist is known for his unconventional approach to wicker; he breaks firmly entrenched patterns regarding wicker as a material for making purely utilitarian objects, creating unique sculptures – true works of art. In his works, it is the same material as stone, clay or wood for the sculptor.

He has been promoting wicker in art since the 1970s. After obtaining a diploma in weaving at the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Nałęczów, he worked as a designer at the ‘Jedność’ Wicker Cooperative in Rudnik nad Sanem, and then as an art instructor at the Voivodeship House of Culture in Tarnobrzeg (currently the Tarnobrzeg House of Culture).Since 2000, he has been the President of the All-Poland Wicker Creative Association. He gives lectures for cultural institutions and associations. Author of more than twenty individual exhibitions and participant of several dozen collective exhibitions. In 2001, on the basis of his works and artistic achievements, he was admitted to the Association of Polish Artists. Organiser of several dozen artistic open-air workshops in Poland and abroad. Participant of international artistic wicker festivals in Poland, Denmark and Ukraine. Curator of the Ukrainian-Polish project ‘Tree of Wishes’ within the framework of the 9th International Maximilian Voloshin Symposium (September 2011).

Winner of numerous awards in prestigious art competitions.
