On the Lower San River, braiding has centuries-old traditions, which are maintained and continued to this day, mainly by wickerworkers from Rudnik nad Sanem and the surrounding area, while the knowledge and skill of weaving from roots, straw and mullein is now practically in decline. The exhibition will feature more than twenty basic patterns characteristic of traditional braiding, made by the best handicraftsmen from our region. The exhibition will be a kind of compendium of knowledge about elementary techniques and weaves in braiding using thread, roots, straw and mâche. The educational exhibition is aimed at everyone who is inspired by folk handicraft. Its aim is to draw attention to the beauty hidden in the braid, made in the traditional way using natural materials.
