City and forest as part of Lodz DESIGN FESTIVAL 2017

04- 08.10.2017 – Festival Center Art Incubator in the Art Factory, 3 Tymienieckiego Street, 90-365 Lodz.

City and Forest is an exhibition promoting knowledge about animals living in cities. The authors wanted to draw attention to birds, insects and mammals living in cities, their needs, habits, the dangers they are exposed to, but also the benefits that humans have from their neighborhood. One way to help wild animals in the city is to provide them with nesting boxes. Well-known Polish designers were invited to join the project; after consulting with an expert, they designed nesting boxes and places of refuge for birds, mammals and insects.

The exhibition has an educational character. It is directed to all nature lovers. Arranged in such a way as to particularly interest and sensitize children, who actively learn about animal life through tasks and special installations.

Since March 2016, the exhibition was shown during: Design March in Reykjavik, Gdynia Design Days, Helsinki Design Week, Greenahouse Stockholm Lighting and Furniture Fair, as well as at the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, Castle Cieszyn and the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design.
