China. Tradition and Culture. Photo exhibition - Edward Gregory Funke
June 27 – July 27, 2008
Edward Grzegorz Funke, is a doctor of technical sciences, graduate of Gdansk University of Technology, resident of Koszalin.
He has been involved in photography for over forty years. An actual member of Fotoklub RP, vice-president of the Baltic Photographic Society and participant in dozens of photographic exhibitions and competitions, both domestic and foreign. For several years, together with his wife Krystyna, they have been implementing their own photographic project Portrait of the World and also run the Author’s Photo Gallery under this name.
The exhibition China. Tradition and Culture is the product of their twice-daily tour of China and Tibet, in 2005 and 2006. They traveled from Beijing and Badaling, through the central provinces and the agricultural south, to Macau and Hong Kong. The exhibition consists of 60 large photographs, selected from several thousand images to best – albeit briefly – show what will soon no longer be seen: China without the “benefits” of civilization and Tibet not trampled by tourists.
The exhibition has so far been presented in Slupsk, Szczecin, Warsaw and Jelenia Gora. The exhibition was prepared by Zegart Agency.
