On January 31, 1938, the Minister of the Interior and Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Poland Felicjan Slawoj Składkowski officially granted the name of Stalowa Wola to a parochial settlement, located in the Plawo community, Nisko municipality, Nisko county, and Lviv province.
It has had municipal rights since April 1, 1945.
In 1973 the town of Rozwadów was annexed to Stalowa Wola, along with its centuries-old history and tradition, but the coexistence and cooperation of the two neighboring towns began much earlier, and has lasted, one might say, from the very, common beginning….
