In the colors of the Majdan Army. T. Kosciuszko National Guard from Majdan Zbydniovskiy
A publication about the T. Kosciuszko National Guard from Majdan Zbydniowski, showing the well-known tradition in the region, but in the light of new research.
The publication includes an expert analysis of the relationship of the costume of the National Guard from Majdan Zbydniowski to Polish and European military dress traditions. The topic was developed by historian and expert in uniform and uniformrology, Prof. Aleksander Smolinski, Ph.D., of the Institute of History and Archival Studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. The ethnographic study, presenting the Guard in the context of the vital traditions of Easter period grave guards, was undertaken by ethnographer Dr. Andrzej Karczmarzewski, a researcher of customs and folk rituals of the Podkarpacie region.
On the other hand, Adam Michal Chciuk, a long-time commander of the Guard, who for many years tried to reach information on the history of his own formation, described its history with special emphasis on the accessories, uniforms and armament of the Majdan Guard.
The whole book is in two languages: Polish and English.
