History of the Central Industrial District

History of the Central Industrial District

“History of the Central Industrial District” is the latest book by Prof. Marian Marek Drozdowski, PhD.

This is a comprehensive, detailed monograph, interestingly written, bringing a lot of detailed information, and at the same time constituting a synthesis of existing knowledge. An important place in this monograph is occupied by Stalowa Wola, the flagship investment of the CID.

The book addresses not only the issues of the genesis and construction of the CID, it also shows visions of the future, outlined by its creators, as we know, not realized due to the outbreak of World War II. An important part of the publication is the presentation of opinions about CID, presented at the time of the realization of this plan, as well as in the period of the People’s Republic of Poland and the Third Republic. Noteworthy is the chronicle of the CID, covering important events in the implementation of this work from late 1935 to the fall of 1939, dissected in great detail on dozens of pages of the book. The whole is complemented by an extensive bibliography and a personal index. It is worth mentioning that the more than 480-page volume contains numerous archival illustrations, including those that are little known or previously unpublished.
