A guide to former Stalowa Wola

A guide to former Stalowa Wola

Guide to former Stalowa Wola is the second publication from the planned by the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola series of guides to districts, towns and municipalities of Stalowa Wola County, aimed at reminding their history, monuments and traditions.

“Guide to former Stalowa Wola” is intended, by means of photographs (including archival) and descriptions, to present an outline of the history of the birth and growth of the city, as well as the place in which it came into being. Presented here are significant buildings, erected in the city before the war and the first two decades of its postwar development, as well as the people and events associated with them. In some cases, there are descriptions of buildings or later events, insofar as it is a continuation of a certain history and has a significant meaning for the turn of the fate of Stalowa Wola.

Reaching back to more ancient times is aimed at recalling often forgotten events affecting the history of the region before the creation of the city, and constituting the historical context and foundation of the local tradition from which it grows.

One can learn from it about the Southern Works erected at an impressive pace and the settlement being built as part of the CID, about the history of Pławo, about the history of the San River lands before Stalowa Wola was established here…. About the oldest buildings, streets, neighborhoods, places….a and also people who contributed to the development of the city.
