We invite you to participate in a unique open-air event!
[archived course]
Enter our contest and become a participant in a unique project – an open-air art course that will become a meeting place of two cultures.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the tragic events in the building of the pre-war cinema in Rozwadów, which during World War II housed the underground premises of the Home Army Kedyw – the so-called Górka. On May 18, 1944, two Home Army soldiers were killed in a clash with the Germans: Stanisław Szumielewicz “Kryspin” and Kedyw commander Stanisław Bełżyński “Kret”.
The classes will take place in the beautiful garden of the Alfons Karpiński Painting Gallery. Surrounded by greenery and ancient trees, participants will refine their artistic skills while forming a bilingual artistic community. Led by two instructors, Magdalena Antonowicz, an artist from Stalowa Wola, and Tatiana Yagodkina from Ukraine, students will learn the secrets of working at the easel. This is a unique opportunity to explore a variety of painting techniques, including acrylics, watercolors, pastels, and more. As part of the program, there will also be a one-time session held in the Charzewice garden.
Participation in this open-air art event is free of charge. However, a condition of entry is to participate in a contest by creating an artwork titled “FRIENDSHIP.” Eligible for the contest are children and youth from Poland, ages 12–15, and youth from Ukraine, ages 13–14. Fourteen selected participants will ultimately join the workshop.
Entries should be submitted in person to the Karpiński Painting Gallery building (Rozwadowska 12, Stalowa Wola) by July 6, 2022.
The museum will provide all necessary art materials for the open-air sessions.
Classes will be held from July 11 to July 16, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
Contest rules and the Registration Form are available in the attachment.
