Museum Night 2024
For the umpteenth time, the Stalowa Wola museum is taking part in the European event, opening its doors in the late evening hours to all visitors. The Night of Museums is one of those events that history and art lovers, as well as simply those who appreciate high-level cultural experiences, look forward to. This evening promises to be a real feast for museum visiting enthusiasts. It will not only be an opportunity to admire the exhibits, but also to participate in special events such as concerts and workshops.
The Stalowa Wola Museum has organized a unique array of exhibitions across its branches: the Regional Museum, the Karpiński Gallery, and the Museum of the Central Industrial District (COP), all with a dynamic musical flair! On this special night, the museum’s main location will open a new temporary exhibition titled Roztocze-Podkarpacie Visions of Nature, showcasing the work of members of the Roztocze-Podkarpacie Region Association of Polish Nature Photographers.
Other notable Stalowa Wola institutions join this year’s lineup, including the John Paul II Museum, the Gallery of the Cooperative Cultural Center, as well as the Stalowa Wola Auto Club and the Rzeszów University of Technology’s Mechanical and Technological Faculty in Stalowa Wola.
In addition to exhibitions, this exceptional night will feature two open-air concerts. Fans of bossa nova, rumba, and salsa can enjoy a performance by Iza & Latynoscy Brothers. Renowned composer and melody-maker Maciej Łyszkiewicz created ten compositions, with beautiful lyrics by Iza Kowalewska, inspired by Polish songwriters, delivering playful tales of timeless themes: love, farewells, wild dancing, and exuberant joy. It’s a delightful nod to classic hits and catchy refrains.
For fans of classical music with a twist, Jelonek offers a concert of spirited reinterpretations! Mostly instrumental, his performance showcases violins and string instruments against a backdrop of rock and metal guitars and drums. Jelonek’s rock-infused arrangements of famous violin compositions include works by Vivaldi, Paganini, Chopin, Khachaturian, Rossini, and others, as well as renditions of pieces by Jimi Hendrix, the Beastie Boys, and Boney M. It’s sure to be a memorable musical experience!
Admission to all events is free, except for the exhibitions at the COP Museum, which have an entrance fee of just 1 PLN.
