
NEW RECRUITMENT to the School of Drawing and Painting “Karpinski”
JUNIOR COURSE (14-20 years old).
The course includes a series of classes (3 x 45 min. each) that include drawing and painting exercises. Participants in the course receive individual corrections and technical instruction allowing them to freely pursue their own artistic goals. The classes are conducted by Dr. Janusz Baran.
SELECTED TOPICS:
- drawing exercises; sketching as a basic form of recording observation and analysis of reality
- history and significance of drawing throughout history
- linear drawing, chiaroscuro drawing (contrast, value)
- drawing with the use of perspective (reproduction of spatial forms from nature)
- mixed and experimental techniques
- use of colour: paints, pastels, watercolours
- still-life study
- figure studies, working with a live model
- painting compositions (tempera, acrylic paints).
Classes for young people aged 14-20
Sundays, 11am – 1.30pm
4 classes per month (total 10 hours) PLN 350 / month.

The Museum provides paper, sub-paintings, oil paints and specialised materials, including materials for printmaking (rollers, paints, styluses, linoleum).
Participants are required to provide their own basic art materials as indicated by the instructor.

activities for children (9-13 years of age)
The classes for children are above all about deepening their creativity and developing their skills in artistic techniques. It is also a time for practising analytical reproduction of reality, as well as its creative interpretation. The task of the qualified art educator is to familiarise the pupils with the basic terms connected with the form of the work of art, with the means of expression characteristic of the particular field of drawing or painting. The starting point in each case is a short talk to introduce the creative work. Encounters with art are an integral part of developing artistic talent. The classes are led by Magdalena Antonowicz.
SELECTED TOPICS:
- emotional values of colours, expressing moods through colours
- structure and form in painting; works inspired by the work of Tadeusz Kantor
- Leaf, tree, forest – theme interpreted realistically, expressively, synthetically
- cubist portrait or expressionist portrait
- deformation inspired by the work of Witkacy, expressionist paintings from the first half of the 20th century
- poster design, album or postcard from Rozwadów
- motif from well-known paintings as an element of decoration of a utilitarian object
- favourite painting – a free copy of a selected painting by Alfons Karpiński
- between graphics and painting – various forms of monotyping
- inspiration from Lasowiak art – paper cut-outs.
Art activities for children
Wednesdays, 16:00-18:00
4 classes per month (total 8 hours)
