Sybilla 2014
Distinction in the Sybilla 2014 Museum Event of the Year Competition for the educational program “Code of Architecture”.
The Sybil 2014 awards ceremony was held on April 24, 2015, as part of the First Congress of Polish Museologists. In this year’s edition, 230 museum projects from all over Poland were submitted to the competition. The winners were selected by a competition committee composed of prominent representatives of science and culture. In 11 categories, the jury awarded 8 prizes and 23 honorable mentions. Only four nominations were awarded in each category, from which the winner was selected.
The educational project “Code of Architecture” used the modernist heritage of Stalowa Wola in an unconventional way, promoting it and making residents aware of the sense of its preservation. Its goal was spatial and architectural education of various audiences. Local heritage became a pretext for drawing attention to the problems affecting space today, looking at current trends in the design and shaping of the environment, as well as discovering how much architecture is connected with various fields of life and science.
The author of the project is Lucyna Mizera; the authors of the individual modules are: Katarzyna Wydra, Ewa Solarz, Dr. Edyta-Lisek-Lubaś, Iwona Pityńska, Małgorzata Szabla, Małgorzata Szarleja, Dr. Elżbieta Przesmycka, Anna Szlązak.
The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola has continuously since 2006 been awarded in the ministerial competition for the Sibyl Museum Event of the Year. In its 16 years of activity it has already been noticed 17 times by the jury in this prestigious competition.
