The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola has been operating for almost 20 years. During this time, it has received several times for its activities the prestigious prize awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the “Sibylla” competition for the Museum Event of the Year. This time it is a distinction awarded in the “historical and archeological exhibitions” category for the exhibition “Rozwadów Station. Between Lviv and Krakow”.
In the 2016 Sibyl Museum Event of the Year competition, 225 museums from all over Poland competed in eleven categories. The final gala of the 37th edition of “Sybil” took place on May 16 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, and was honored with the presence of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage Prof. Piotr Glinski.
The competition, which has been organized for forty years, is the most important form of recognition of achievements in Polish museology. The jury evaluating achievements is composed of experts in various fields (art history, history, pedagogy, cultural animation). In each category, a prize and two honorable mentions are awarded, in addition to which one of all the entries receives the grand prix. This time it went to the National Museum in Warsaw for the educational project “In the museum everything is allowed”.
