Secrets of colors

Color is an extremely fascinating subject. Individual colors can make us happy, sad or stimulate our senses. How has the perception of color changed over the centuries? Did Alphonse Karpinski have a favorite color?

Magic color laboratory

A dish of water, potato flour, acrylic paints and a sheet of paper. That’s all it takes to “conjure up” an extraordinary painting. To do this, we will use the technique of “marbling”. It involves creating fanciful patterns on water, which are translated onto paper.

Spontaneous creation will bring a lot of joy to the workshop participants. Unusual paintings will be a unique decoration of a living room or room.

Wednesday 31.01

Unusual collections

During the museum lesson we will learn about selected paintings from the collection of the Catholic University Museum. We will learn what a landscape with a staffage is and what a tray of sweets has in common with a painting in the form of a circle (tonda).

A picturesque view

On a paper plate in the shape of a circle, we will try to reproduce the landscape depicted in the painting View of the Gulf of Naples and the inlet of Capri. To do this, we will use various techniques, such as taping or reflecting.

Thursday 1.02

Temporary exhibition From the museum treasury

During the exhibition classes and workshops we will look for answers to the questions: What does the number on a porcelain signature mean? How to recognize old porcelain? How to distinguish porcelain from ceramics?

Jewelry stand

Self-hardening clay is an ideal material from which you can create the perfect decoration by hand and with the right tools, which dries and hardens in the air. To make our coaster we will use: self-hardening clay, a bowl of water, a dough roller, a plate to trace the mold, special tools and acrylic paints, with which we will decorate our work.
