Family Sunday at the exhibition “From the museum treasury”
This Sunday, February 18, you are cordially invited to participate in Family Sunday at the Karpinski Gallery (former Rozwadow court building).
This time a museum guide will show you around the exhibition “From the Museum Treasury. The most valuable works of art from the collection of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin Museum”. After the guided tour, you are also invited to participate in thematic workshops. Participants in the class will make a landscape in the form of a tondo. They will paint their dream place on a painting board in the shape of a circle. The joint workshop will be a great opportunity to exchange impressions and observations about the exhibition they have learned about.
The collection of the Catholic University of Lublin presented in the gallery represents a wide cultural range. It is an opportunity to meet with evidence of the diversity of the intellectual life of people of previous eras and an opportunity to get acquainted with the works of various artists and schools – works that were created over several hundred years. The rules developed in the Renaissance are clear, but what a different artistic effect they achieved in objects from different places in Europe – France, the Netherlands, Italy. Many works from the 19th and 20th centuries present the face of artistic passions: restless explorations or longing glimpses into the depths of a noble spirit.
The space for perception is significant, as the exhibition is an excellent opportunity to see the contrast between modern and contemporary art.
