Family Sunday 28.04
On Sunday, April 28, we invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition “From the Museum Treasury. The most valuable works of art from the collection of the Museum of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin”. It will be wrapped around the theme of Romanticism. On the basis of the works of art, their colors and the situations depicted in the paintings, an attempt will be made to link what is depicted with what the artist wanted and was able to convey.
Romanticism is difficult to limit only to literature and art. There are many definitions of it, since it was a direction, a phenomenon with a tendency to comprehensively cover many spheres of human life. One can talk about romantic customs, lifestyles and even politics. In Poland, qualities from literature were transferred to reality itself. Rebellion (philosophical and social) and the imperative to fight for the homeland were qualities that were required by the difficult situation of the nation. Therefore, it can be said that Romanticism was more of a temperament than a doctrine. And we will also refer to this in the guided tour.
