Stone, bronze, iron
Lessons concern the most ancient past of the region in the basin of the lower San and Łęg from the beginnings of human settlement until the end of antiquity and the early Middle Ages. The lesson, based on unique monuments, will bring us closer to the daily life of the prehistoric inhabitants of the region in the following eras: the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. We will answer questions: how their culture and way of life differed from ours, what were their beliefs, how they dealt with the dead. We will explore not only their material culture, but also their spiritual culture. The class will begin with an introduction about the work of an archaeologist, while at the end we will test our knowledge with a quiz.
Archaeologist – who is that? We explore the past
What is the work of an archaeologist? What can we learn thanks to him? During the classes you will turn into archaeologists, learn about their tools and the specifics of their work. Together we will answer the questions: what is archaeology and an archaeological monument, how do we find archaeological sites, what is the work of an archaeologist during excavations and what happens with the monuments found in this way. An excerpt from the film, a presentation and a game will help us understand the topic, during which we will try to recreate the work of an archaeologist by digging up a selected object and creating a corresponding drawing documentation. In addition, we will help you decipher what the exhibits presented could have been used for. These discoveries give us knowledge about the life of people thousands of years ago.
Goths, Vandals, Romans. History of the spear from Rozwadów
The lesson provides an opportunity to learn unknown facts about the history of the lands of present-day Poland from the beginning of our era, gain knowledge about the colorful fate of the Goths and Vandals, peoples who have surprisingly survived in Polish memory, as well as the influence of the Roman Empire on these areas. In addition, we explore the mysteries of the Amber Trail and the extraordinary archaeological find unearthed in Rozwadów – an ancient spear with a runic inscription.
Workshops
Ceramics
During the workshop we will get acquainted with the characteristics of pottery made in the Lusatian culture of Tarnobrzeg, we will learn how the Nadsanka vase or the Zbydniowska bowl looked like. We will talk about the purpose of these vessels and the technique in which they were made. Inspired, we will make our own, keeping in mind the shape and ornaments.

By time machine through the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages – creating a common game
This is a proposal for creative processing of the knowledge acquired in the lesson about prehistory. Having at their disposal clues and materials on the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages, children develop board games in groups: rules of the game, questions substantively in accordance with the theme, design their own graphics.
Jewelry
Among the metal creations created in the Bronze and Iron Ages were many decorative elements. We will analyze the , “fashion” of those times. We will transfer the style and motifs to modern jewelry by making our own ornaments from natural materials.

During the classes will be used educational aids such as: exhibits to touch, replicas of archaeological relics, work cards, portable sandbox, photographs, board game, power -point presentations, film presenting the work of archaeologists, interactive animations, quiz in a multimedia application.

Museum workshops
Lasowiak’s ritual year
Classes on interesting traditions, customs and annual rituals in the region, will bring closer issues related to the experience of holidays and traditional rituals in the old Lasowiak villages. Art workshops also in the field of ethnodiscipline will be encapsulated with news on the subject. Within the framework of activities assigned to the seasons, we propose:
– Spring customs and rituals at Lasowiak villages.
This is a great opportunity not only to deepen your knowledge of the rituals of the inhabitants of the Sandomierz Forest, including those associated with Easter, but also to make traditional holiday decorations.
– Courtship and wedding at Lasowiaks
Folk rituals of the summer period will be brought closer by the story of the Lasowiak wedding and workshops during which we will make Wianki (garlands).
– Evenings full of fairy tales
The meeting around customs related to St. Andrew’s Day, and other old fortune-telling and superstitions, will be combined with a workshop on ethnodiscipline entitled Magical puppets
– Christmas at Lasowiak’s
During the workshop we will learn how the Lasowiak people spent Christmas and will make decorations appropriate to the holiday in question.
Grave guards
During the meeting we will introduce one of the most beautiful traditions on the lower San – grave guards. Using the example of the National Guard from Majdan Zbydniowski, we will also learn who were called guardsmen. A rich collection of photographs, an excerpt from the film and a uniform, which you will be able to try on, will help you understand the topic. Through art activities you will learn what elements the guardsman’s uniform consisted of and what the symbols appearing on it meant. We will take on new roles and, with the help of paints, crayons and a little imagination, portray ourselves as guardsmen.
Educational aids such as exhibits, film and presentations will be used during the class.
STOP AT A COTTAGE, APARTMENT, PALACE
Lessons
Invitation to a country cottage
Few people remember anymore what a chamber, a kneading-trough, a flouring-box or a two-pack is. However, in old country cottages each of these things had its place.
We will spin a tale of village life that no longer exists at the permanent exhibition. Participants will learn about items indispensably connected with its life and traditions.
Old clothes
The way the villagers of the Lower Danube region dressed, the fabrics, decorative ornaments and colors will reveal their secrets to the participants of the classes at the ethnographic part of the permanent exhibition. What influenced the costumes of the rural population, what was the reason for a certain way of coloring, what did the different colors on the clothes symbolize? This is an important part of their lives, identifying people and giving them a sense of identity. You will learn how fabrics were once made, clothes were sewn from them, and then decorated.
Workshop
In the dyer’s workshop
Classes will begin at the exhibition, where children will learn about the typical costumes of the villagers of the Lower Lasowiak region, their secrets will be revealed to the participants by fabrics, ornaments and colors.
The topic of dyeing threads and fabrics by the Lasowiak people will become the starting point for a conversation about color and natural dyes, but also the symbolism of colors and patterns. During the class we will learn about dye plants and make artwork using natural dyes created by ourselves.

Decorate the chamber
During the class we will make traditional decorations that villagers used to make during the Easter and Christmas seasons. Together we will conjure up tissue paper flowers and so-called “spiders” – colorful decorations made of tissue paper and straw.

Meeting at the loom
From the little seed to the linen cloth. The history of growing, harvesting, spinning and weaving flax will be presented at the permanent exhibition. You will also learn what a bidło, dugout or spinning wheel is. Part of the class is the projection of a fragment of a film about flax processing and a workshop, during which we will introduce the technique of weaving, and make an original souvenir from our museum on small looms.

Commercial nature of the city – (E-grosik)
During the class we will talk about the commercial character of old Rozwadów. Based on exhibits, we will talk about customs related to trade in the area. In addition, workshop participants will learn how this area of life has changed over the centuries and will learn about the various means of payment once in use. The workshop is accompanied by an animation that will allow children to shop in a pre-war store. They will also receive cards with tasks and puzzles to help them understand the basics of economics.
Walking tour of former Rozwadów
A virtual walk through old Rozwadów, visiting historical sites, admiring centuries-old buildings, searching for architectural and historical curiosities provides an opportunity to tell the history of the three-hundred-year-old town and its inhabitants.
Educational aids such as exhibits, presentations, multimedia games, activity cards, publications, board games will be used during the classes.

Treasure of the Rozwadów temple
The Church of Our Lady of the Scapular in Rozwadów hides underappreciated treasures in its interiors. One of them is the stained-glass windows and wall paintings of artist Adam Stalony-Dobrzanski. This is a unique work in the whole country so well preserved, with an interesting iconography referring to Byzantine art. During the lesson combined with a trip to this church, we will gain a complete knowledge of the object and the works preserved in it. It will be accompanied by musical touches. We will learn the nature of liturgical chants: Gregorian chant and Byzantine liturgy.

With music through the world
Music has accompanied man since the dawn of time. Archaeological excavations confirm the existence of sound tools as early as the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. The magical-cultural and utilitarian functions of instruments have, over time, replaced places for purely musical functions. A cross-cutting lesson on musical instruments, detailing those characteristic of our region.

In the neighborhood – pre-war residents of Rozwadów
Based on the artifacts presented at the exhibition, children will gain basic knowledge about Jewish culture: holidays and rituals. They will learn who is called a national and ethnic minority, what is multiculturalism, Judaism, what language Jews speak, what some Jewish symbols mean, and most importantly – what do Jews have in common with Rozwadów? The classes should be combined with a tour In the world of rabbis and tzaddikim – in the footsteps of Rozwadów Jews.
Doesn’t the garment adorn the man?
The way a person dresses is an information to others about his character, customs, culture and even religion. This function of dress was already very important centuries ago, because it informed about a person’s nationality and role in his local community. During the class you will learn about the way the inhabitants of the Nadsany villages, representatives of the princely family, Rozhadov townspeople and Jews dressed, you will also find out what the differences in clothing were due to.

The school of our great-grandparents
Over the past 100 years, school in Poland has changed a lot. Today’s children have colorful, sturdy backpacks and nice clothes, use washable pens, calculators and computers. And what was the life of a student at the beginning of the 20th century like? During the class you will learn how to use an abacus, find out what calligraphy is, but you will also discover many other features of a school from a century ago.

During the workshop children and teenagers will learn the principles of ancient calligraphy. The workshop is accompanied by exercises in writing with a nib and even a goose pen.

Lessons
INDEPENDENCE or INDEPENDENCE? – World War I on the lower San
What is freedom, border, subjection, independence? We will answer this question using a metaphor hidden in the fairy tales Birds in a Cage by Ignacy Krasicki and Dog and Wolf by Adam Mickiewicz. During the play Our Territory we will try to experience the lack of freedom and understand the problem of independence of borders. We will bring the topic of independence closer through exhibits and an educational game about World War I. We will also recall important anniversaries related to the struggle and recovery of independence.
The Swedish Deluge in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the nadsan region
Unknown aspects of the Polish-Swedish wars, often associated with the nadsan region, the post of patriots and traitors to the homeland, heroic defenders and cowards presented during the lesson allow you to learn many new things about the spectacular events and important figures from the time of the “Deluge”
November Uprising in the country and in the region
During the lesson we learn about the causes of the outbreak of the uprising of 1830-31, its heroes and battle struggles, ending in its fall. We recall the service of representatives of the noble houses of the region in the insurgent formations, General Ramorino’s troops stationed in Rozwadów, soldiers’ graves, as well as the forgotten post-insurrection armed action of Colonel Zaliwsky.
The January Uprising in the country and the region
Although the insurgent battles of 1863-64 were fought behind the line of the San River, many residents of the San River region took an active part in them, supported the insurgent parties and brought aid to the wounded and needy. In addition to outlining the causes and consequences of the outbreak of the uprising, during the lesson we recall the battles fought in the area and the people involved in them. We also learn about memorials in the region related to the uprising.
World War I in the Nadsany region
Several times the front rolled over the line of the San, the marches of multinational armies and the battles fought led to enormous destruction in Rozwadów, Nisk or Rudnik. Discovering little-known episodes from 1914-18, recalling Polish soldiers fighting under foreign banners, the forming legions or the road to regaining independence will allow a better understanding of the causes and course of the first great world conflict.
World War II in the nadsan region
The lesson is a story about the difficult September 1939 in bombarded Rozwadów and the help brought to those in need, attempts to evacuate the Southern Plant, occupation sabotage, underground organizations, acts of heroism, secret teaching and diversionary actions. We will recall figures of particular merit in the armed struggle.

In the footsteps of the Lubomirski family
The Lubomirski family, distinguished in history, had in its ranks politicians, commanders, soldiers, artists, patrons of the arts, for centuries significantly influencing the fate of the Republic and our region. Learning about the genealogies and fates of interesting figures from the magnate family, we get acquainted with unknown aspects of the history of our country and the immediate surroundings.
Jan III Sobieski – king, leader, Sarmatian
King John III issued the privilege of locating the city of Rozwadów, hence preserving it in the grateful memory of local residents. Recalling Sobieski’s character as a monarch and a warrior, but also introducing trivia from his colorful private life will allow us to get to know the true face of this multi-talented and meritorious ruler.
Rev. Jozef Poniatowski – soldier, commander, hero
Unknown facts from the colorful life of Prince Jozef Poniatowski – a brave knight and citizen of the world, Napoleonic marshal and favorite of the ladies; Viennese youth, soldierly superiority, commanding successes, heroic death and posthumous glory. We also discover the prince’s ties to the Nadsany region.

Lessons
Railroad on the railroad
This is a great adventure, during which we will introduce the subject of railroads on the basis of the history of railroads in our region. During the classes, children will have a unique opportunity to enter the interior of the historic Ty 2-16 locomotive standing at the Rozwadów station and see its mechanisms up close. They will learn, among other things, how a steam locomotive is built, when the first locomotive appeared in Rozwadów and what a railwayman’s work consisted of. We will bring closer the beginnings of railroads in Rozwadów. Classes combining part in the exhibition with a trip to the steam locomotive.

The duration of the meetings is not rigidly defined: from 45 minutes to 90 minutes.
