Lessons

The Lubomirskis from the kitchen

Historical and art workshops related to the history of the region, will allow us to tell about the princely family living in the former Rozwadów. The workshop will begin with a “visit to the Lubomirski prince”, we will explain what customs prevailed during feasts, what they used to eat, what characterized the old Polish cuisine. We will also get to know the princely family as activists, patrons, founders and hosts of magnificent residences.

Heraldry for kids

During the historical-art workshops, participants will gain basic knowledge of heraldry, learn what a coat of arms is, what uses it had, who owned it. Learning about the coats of arms of Rozwadów and the families that ruled it, they will gain knowledge about the beginnings of the city and its owners. Participants will also have the opportunity to create their own coats of arms.

Once upon a time in Rozwadów….

What is a city and did it always look the same? Based on the history of Rozwadów, we will learn, among other things, what characterized the old city buildings, what the market square was used for, what the inhabitants of Rozwadów did for a living. We will learn about King John III Sobieski and his relationship with Rozwadów. A short walk through the streets of the old town, during which we will find the answers to our questions, will end with art activities – we will build together a model of the town.

Railroad to railroad

Children are invited to a workshop at the exposition, during which we will talk about the history of railroads in Rozwadów, the profession of a railwayman, and the construction of a locomotive. In the art part we will build our own locomotive from cardboard boxes.

Under the glass

We will learn what stained glass is. We will discuss the technique of making, and recall those seen in the temple, created by Adam Stalony-Dobrzanski. Part of the class will be the screening of a film about the stained glass and polychrome windows of the Fara and their author. Inspired by the artist’s works, we will make our own stained glass windows, using gel paints.

Sacred architecture – the Fara

We will start the class in the open air learning about the architecture, interior and furnishings of the Parish Church in Rozwadów. We will learn new concepts in architecture such as polychrome, stained glass, tower, etc. We will learn a bit of history, and all this in an accessible form for children – we will look for details in the space of the church, fill in cards with tasks, learn through play.

INHABITANTS AND THEIR CUSTOMS

In the neighborhood – pre-war residents of Rozwadów
Based on the artifacts presented at the exhibition, children will gain basic knowledge about Jewish culture: holidays and rituals, they will learn what is called a national and ethnic minority, what is multiculturalism, what is Judaism, what language do Jews use, what do some Jewish symbols mean, and most importantly – what do Jews have in common with Rozwadów? Specially prepared publications and worksheets, as well as aids based on photographs, will be helpful in understanding certain issues.

Commercial character of the city – (E-grosik)
During the class we will talk about the commercial character of old Rozwadów. Based on exhibits, we will talk about customs related to trade in the area. In addition, workshop participants will learn how this area of life has changed over the centuries and the various means of payment once in use. The workshop is accompanied by an animation that will allow children to shop in a pre-war store. They will also receive cards with tasks and puzzles to help them understand the basics of economics.

During artistic activities, children will learn about traditional Jewish cut-outs and challenge themselves to make them.
Tours
In the world of rabbis and tzaddikim – on the trail of Rozwadów Jews
During the tour we will walk through the streets of Rozwadów, find places and other buildings related to the former Jewish inhabitants of the town.

ECHOES OF WAR

World War I in the eyes of a child
What is freedom, border, subjection, independence? We will answer this question using a metaphor hidden in the fairy tales Birds in a Cage by Ignacy Krasicki and Dog and Wolf by Adam Mickiewicz. During the play Our Territory we will try to experience the lack of freedom and understand the problem of independence of borders. We will explain the basic concepts related to war, through object associations and an educational multimedia game and a memory game.

Little gardener
Workshops during which you will learn how historical gardens differed, and with the help of stamps made of natural materials you will design your own garden modeled on historical ones.

– It is possible to adapt the theme of the lesson to the interests of the recipient or the school program.
– We are open and flexible, the thematic and content range of lessons will be adapted to your requirements.

Classes can be held: from Monday to Friday during the opening hours of the Museum.
The duration of the meetings is not rigidly defined: from 60 to 90 minutes.

The guardian is required to stay with the group for the entire duration of the lesson!
In case of cancellation of an ordered lesson, please inform us by phone.
We do not conduct classes with groups that have not been arranged.
