The magnates played a significant, though not always glorious, role in the history of the Republic. Among this social stratum there were people ready to make great sacrifices for the fatherland, as well as those who used their privileged position for their own benefit. The secrets of the magnate palaces will allow you to discover activities that will bring you closer to the history of the princely family. Presentation of the rise of the privileged strata in Poland and scenes from the life of the magnates, based on the history of the Lubomirski family. The role played in the history of Poland and the region, great works, unknown facts, unusual characters.
Museum workshops
Ancient sciences – Heraldry
Participants will gain basic knowledge of heraldry, learn about the structure of coats of arms (emblems, coat of arms colors, legends associated with them). While learning about the coats of arms of Rozwadów and the families that ruled it, they will gain knowledge about the origins of the old city. Participants will also have the opportunity to create their own coats of arms.
Letters written with a pen
During the workshop, children will become acquainted with the principles of ancient epistolography, learning Old Polish calligraphy and the rules of letter writing, ways of sealing letters and learning about the materials used for this purpose. This will be accompanied by exercises in writing with a nib and even a goose pen, creating letters and applying seals.

Lessons
I’ll tell you the history of Rozwadów
During the classes we will learn about the beginnings of the former town of Rozwadów. We will learn how it was formed and functioned. What were the names of its first owners? Who were the inhabitants? What is the connection between King John III Sobieski and Rozwadów? What was the location privilege? We will consider according to what principles was the town’s spatial layout planned and what were its basic buildings? Why was the market square the center and what was its use? Why Rozwadów does not have defensive walls? We will find the answers to these questions in the urban space, teaching children careful observation, asking questions, searching for answers on their own, drawing conclusions.
Railroad Rozwadów
At the meeting we will introduce the history of the Rozwadów railroad, the times when the first locomotive drove into Rozwadów and the people and stories associated with it.
Art workshops
Painted with glass – Stained glass
We will learn what stained glass is. We will discuss the technique of making, recall those seen in the temple, created by Adam Stalony-Dobrzanski. Part of the class will be the screening of a film about the stained-glass windows and polychromes of the Fara and their author. Inspired by the artist’s works, we will make our own stained glass windows, using gel paints.

Museum workshops
In the neighborhood – pre-war residents of Rozwadów
Based on the artifacts presented at the exhibition, children will gain basic knowledge about Jewish culture: holidays and rituals, they will learn what is called a national and ethnic minority, what is multiculturalism, what is Judaism, what language do Jews use, what do some Jewish symbols mean, and most importantly – what do Jews have in common with Rozwadów? Specially prepared publications and worksheets, as well as aids based on photographs, will be helpful in understanding certain issues.
Commercial character of the city – (E-grosik)
During the class we will talk about the commercial character of old Rozwadów. Based on exhibits, we will talk about customs related to trade in the area. In addition, workshop participants will learn how this area of life has changed over the centuries and the various means of payment once in use. The workshop is accompanied by an animation that will allow children to shop in a pre-war store. They will also receive cards with tasks and puzzles to help them understand the basics of economics.

During the artistic activities, the children will learn about the traditional Jewish cutout and face the task of making it.
Jewish calendar
Youngsters will design a Jewish calendar, learning about the most important holidays and their specific character.

During the tour we will walk through the streets of Rozwadów, we will find places and buildings related to its former Jewish inhabitants. We will learn what the Jewish community did for a living, what customs prevailed, what relations they had with their Christian neighbors.
ECHOES OF THE WARS
Lesson
The foreground of freedom – World War I on the Lower San River
What is freedom, independence and war? We will answer this question by introducing the history of World War I based on its course in our region. Participants will learn about military actions, wartime destruction of towns along the San River. They will learn about local, sometimes forgotten heroes and the realities of everyday life recorded on the pages of children’s diaries. The lesson is based on exhibits in the exhibition, interactive animation and illustrated task books.

A workshop in which participants will learn how historical gardens differed, and with the help of stamps made of natural materials, they will design their own garden modeled on historical ones.

The duration of the meetings is not rigidly defined: from 60 to 90 minutes.
