Drawing and Graphics Summer School is behind us!
What is linocut? How do you translate your drawing skills into printmaking and how to work with a chisel? These questions were explored by participants of the Drawing and Printmaking Summer School, which took place at the Alphonse Karpinski Painting Gallery in July.
The first class was a thematic exploration within the familiar drawing techniques (pencil, graphite, charcoal, sanguine, pastel). Then the participants learned about the different fields of printmaking. Finally, they made their own matrix, which allowed them to make a number of prints on different substrates.
The course included four meetings in the historic building of the Alphonse Karpinski Painting Gallery. Adepts had the opportunity to learn the secrets of printmaking and arouse their curiosity to learn even more about this field.
The classes were conducted by Dr. Janusz Baran.
