
80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising
On Sunday, August 4, 2024, the Museum of the Central Industrial District with the Kedyw Foundation invite you to an event commemorating Stalowa Wola’s Warsaw insurgents, local heroes who stood up to fight for the freedom of the Polish capital during the dramatic 63 days of the uprising.
80 years ago, on August 1, 1944, the Warsaw Uprising began. At “W” hour, people of different faiths, beliefs, backgrounds and ages stood up to fight for the liberation of the capital from German occupation. Shoulder to shoulder they took up the fight for independence, motivated by the need to fulfill a patriotic duty. Among them were also those whose fate bound them to Stalowa Wola and surrounding towns.
The program of the event will include an exhibition, lecture, demonstrations of reconstruction groups, presentation of armaments, educational workshops for children.
