Striped flint - the stone of optimism

The exhibition presents the results of the 2nd Sandomierz Goldsmiths’ Workshop organized by the Sandomierz District Museum and Gold & Silver Gallery C. Łutowicz in Sandomierz.

The Sandomierz Goldsmiths’ Workshop, initiated in 2000, is the only artistic activity of its kind in the world. What makes them unique is the striped flint they promote. In Poland, the most beautiful form of flint – striped flint – is found in a small area of Sandomierz land. It is the only place in the world where we encounter such a beautiful variety.

Works inspired by flint – sculptures-objects, brooches, rings, necklaces, necklaces form a unique collection of striped flint in jewelry and art objects. Some oscillate around prehistory, while others have been firmly rooted in the present day.
