The
Republic of Poland the times of John III Sobieski
The
exhibition was presented in Stalowa Wola between 6th September and 8th
October 2004.
The exhibits were imported from many reputable museums of Poland and Ukraine,
among others: The Historical Museum of Lvov, The Royal Castle on Wawel in Cracow, The National Museums in Warsaw
and Cracow, The Palace in Wilanów Museum, The Museum of the Polish Army
in Warsaw, and
also churches, libraries and private collections.
The
exhibition was consisted of three parts: “In the Family Circle”, “Battle
Fields” and “Glorification of the King”. Visitors could see pictures, graphic
works, military equipment, textiles, prints and medals (140 objects).
Every
of the exhibits has its own unique history. There were pictures and graphic
works of the 17th century, private hunting bottle of the King John
III, authograph and royal seal of the King, armours, arms (sables, halabards,
guns, pistols), oriental sandles (of the Great Vizier Kara Mustafa and the
Grand Hetman of the Crown Stanisław Jabłonowski), Turkish tent.
The
exhibition, which were prepared by The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, was
shown in some other Polish museums (Sandomierz, Krosno, Siedlce, Ostrów
Lednicki)
