The
Prehistory Section began to collect historic materials of all periods of the Antiquity
and the Middle Ages. The greatest part of them is represented by flint, silver
and bronze tools. There are also numerous materials from the burial ground of
Tarnobrzeg Group (Luzitz Culture), like ash-pots, vessels, ornaments and
jewellery there
.
The History Section
collects remains of the contemporary history of the region. The richest
collection covers the city of Stalowa Wola and its quarter – Rozwadów. The
donation of Rev. Wilhelm Gaj- Piotrowski, who has given the Museum several
thousands of his exhibits, is the basis of this collection. The most important
are: the Lubomirski Family archive, the collection of cartography, brochures,
periodicals and regional documents, mainly from 19th century. This
section includes also a rich photographic archive.
